Organization profiles do not belong to an individual member. Rather, the organization profile is an aggregator profile that contains information about the organization. An organization's dues may be based on the number of linked profiles tied to that organization, or a custom attribute. Automated renewal reminders are sent to the email address in the organization profile. Within the organization profile and tied to the organization member type, you can have individual linked profiles and key contacts. This article describes how to add organization member types to your MC Professional account.
To add an organization member type
Navigate to Database > Member Types, then click ADD ORGANIZATION MEMBER TYPE.
On the following screen, enter a name for your member type and linked member type. Select your Pricing Structure, and decide if you'd like to copy another group's permissions. Then, choose a pricing structure.
Number of Linked Profiles: This pricing structure is based on the number of linked members.
Attribute-based pricing: This pricing structure is based on a custom attribute.
For Attribute-based pricing, the custom attribute needs to be assigned to the organization member type using the ASSIGN CUSTOM ATTRIBUTES button.
Next, update the General Settings for the organization.
The organization profile does not belong to an individual. The organization is managed by a linked profile, assigned as a key contact.
Decide if you want to Require approval for new members. If enabled, new members will enter pending status until they are manually changed to active status by an admin.
To assign custom attributes
Click Assign Custom Attributes to select the custom attributes that you want to include for this Member Type, then click SAVE.
To set a landing page
Click the SET LANDING PAGE button. Linked member profiles of this member type will land on the specified page when they log in through your website.
Linked profiles are individual members associated with the organization member type.
Members of this type will land on the specified page when they log in through your website. By default this is set to /member-landing-page. On the left hand side toolbar, select which area of your website you want to link to. Then, select an article from the list. The Link Text and Link URL fields below will auto-populate with the page's information.
In the Page Target drop-down menu, you can select wether or not you want your landing page to open on the Same Page or a New Page. Click the INSERT THIS LINK button when you're finished.
You cannot set an external website as your member landing page.
To add renewal settings
Your new member type's Renewal Payment, and Membership & Expiration Settings pull from your Default Member Type Settings. If this member type requires different settings, you need to update your default settings before creating the member type.
Under Renewal Settings, you can set Auto Renewals to off, required, or optional (before enabling this option, ensure your payment processor is configured to support auto-renewals).
Click Define Renewal Paths to determine whether members of this type have the ability to change to a different member type during renewal.
You can toggle on or off the ability for your members to Renew from Member Profile. If enabled, a dropdown menu with two options will appear, allowing your members to either generate an invoice and renew in their profile, or re-direct them to a URL. With the latter option, you can redirect them to your renewal form.
To configure key contact settings
You can toggle on or off the ability for your key contacts to assign other key contacts to the organization member type.
To add pricing settings
At the bottom of the screen, you can configure your Pricing Settings.
If pricing is based on the number of linked profiles, use the ADD A PRICE POINT button to configure the tiers of pricing for linked profiles. To set a tiered pricing structure (with or without proration), click EDIT PRORATION. You can also set a maximum number of linked profiles in this section.
Access to the check box Allow Key Contacts to Add or Unlink Linked Members has been temporarily removed. If checked off, your key contacts can add up to 100 linked profiles at any time throughout the year, regardless of the limits and pricing tiers set-up under Tiers of Linked Profiles. If you would like this enabled, and understand the limitation, please reach out to our support team to enable this on your behalf.
In the Advanced Pricing Settings section you can add additional pricing rules, added onto the base price of membership. These rules are driven by the values of your selected attributes. You can set advanced pricing rules after checking off the Enable Advanced Pricing box.
Attributes that are included in your advanced pricing rules need to be manually added to your membership application and renewal from.
