Overview
The profile list displays member profiles in list form. On the Profile List page, you can:
- Add member profiles to your database
- Conduct an advanced search
- Save your search results
- Use a saved search to filter your profile list
- Tag member profiles to make bulk updates to your database
To add profiles manually
In your admin dashboard, click the Profile List button in the top right corner of the screen.
Click Add an Individual or Add an Organization to manually add an individual or organization profile to your member database.
In the Member Type dropdown menu, select which member type to add the new member to. A few things to note when you manually add a profile:
- Dues for membership are not charged
- You need to manually fill in the Expiration Date attribute
- You need to manually fill out all attributes in the member's profile.
- A random password is generated for the member. Click Reset Password in the member's profile to set a password for them
Instead of creating a profile manually, you can take a membership application form on behalf of a member to add a new profile to your database. This practice ensures that all the information you want to collect for the profile is gathered, the expiration date is populated, and dues payments are charged. For more information, click here.
To conduct an advanced search
In the Profile List section, click the Advanced search by dropdown menu. You can combine multiple search criteria to customize your search. You can also save your search so you can perform the same search again in the future. You can add the following criteria:
- Member Type
- Attribute
- Event
- Form
- Committee
- Last Login Date
- Unlinked Profiles
Click the Run This Search button to view your search results in the list below.
To save your search results
After you run a search, click Save Search Criteria. A saved search is dynamic. Each time you run your saved search, the results will be updated to reflect your current member database.
Next, use the dropdown menus to give your saved search a name and determine which attribute set it will use when displayed in your profile list.
If you tag members in your list, then select the SAVE THIS LIST OF PROFILES button, this list is static. Each time you view this list, it will display the same profile, regardless of any updates made to your member database.
To access a saved search
Click the Manage Saved Searches drop-down menu.
Click on a saved search under the Search Criteria column. Or, click on a saved profile list under the Profile Lists column. Click Manage Saved Search to rename or delete a saved search or saved profile list. You can also change your column headers.
You can display a saved search on your front-end website. Click here for step-by-step instructions.
To edit attribute columns
Click the Customize these attributes drop-down menu.
By default, the profile list displays attributes attached to the System Default selection. Click Create a new attribute set to customize which attributes display in your profile list.
Then, click Create New or Ad Hoc.
On the following page, click the Create a list of attributes to display dropdown menu. Select which attributes you want to display in your profile list. Click out of the drop-down (just click above it to make the drop-down disappear), then give your new display set a name. Click SAVE to apply this attribute set to your profile list.
This is a great way to find blank attributes in your member profiles.
To tag member profiles and make bulk updates
From the Profile List click TAG THIS PAGE or TAG ALL X. You can also click the check mark box to the left of each row to tag profiles individually. Then, you can view the total number of tagged profiles in the bottom left corner of the page. Click the Actions dropdown menu in bottom right corner of the page to perform bulk actions on your tagged profiles.
Your tagged profiles will remain tagged until you release them. Click UNTAG ALL, or use the UNTAG PROFILES AFTER AN ACTION check box.
Click UNTAG ALL after you complete your task to avoid accidentally keeping those profiles tagged for your next task.
