Overview
If MC Professional currently hosts your custom domain or email services, you can transfer them to another provider at any time.
This guide details what our support team needs from you to start the transfer. Once we provide your transfer information, you will complete the process with your new provider.
Part 1: Transfer your custom domain
To move your domain name to a new host (like GoDaddy or Network Solutions), you will need to move both your domain registration (ownership) and your DNS management (the settings that connect your domain to your website).
Step 1: Request your transfer key
Contact our support team and provide a full list of all domains and aliases you want to migrate away. We will unlock your domain and send you a transfer key (sometimes called an authorization or EPP code). You will give this key to your new provider.
Step 2: Prevent website downtime
To keep your MC Professional website running smoothly during the transfer, we highly recommend keeping your current nameservers (the servers that point your domain to the correct website) exactly as they are until the transfer completes.
If you update your nameservers to your new provider but are not ready to shut down your MC Professional website yet, you must copy our web records over to your new DNS settings:
| Record Type | Host / Name | Value / Points To |
|---|---|---|
| A |
@ (or leave blank)
|
35.172.21.198 |
| A |
@ (or leave blank)
|
35.172.39.232 |
| CNAME | www |
cloudflare.memberclicks.net |
Note: If your new provider only allows one IP address for the A Record, use 35.172.21.198.
Part 2: Transfer your email hosting
Email hosting relies on your DNS records—specifically your MX, SPF, and DKIM settings.
Important: Before you request an email transfer, make sure you back up and download all historical data and messages from your current mailboxes. Once the transfer happens, you will lose access to your old inbox.
How to request an email transfer
If MC Professional currently manages your DNS, we will update your MX records (the settings that tell the internet where to deliver your mail) for you.
Contact our support team to request the transfer, and include the answers to these four questions in your message:
- Where do you currently receive emails for this domain?
- Are you planning to change where you receive emails?
- What is the name of your new email provider going forward?
- Once we update your MX records, you will no longer receive emails at your old mailbox. Are you ready for us to make this change now?
Once we receive your answers, our support team will contact you with the final next steps.
