Overview
As the software provider powering your website, MC Professional implements security measures to safeguard your information and protect data privacy. However, it's important for organizations to create and post their own terms of use and privacy policies on their websites.
A privacy policy is a legal document that communicates to users how your organization intends to manage the personal information of its website visitors and members. Organizations use terms of use agreements to establish guidelines for user behavior on their websites and mitigate legal risks.
Making these policies publicly available assures your website visitors and members that their information is protected and that you value their data privacy. Most importantly, sharing clearly defined terms of use and privacy policies ensures that your organization meets global data protection requirements.
Details for recommended policies, including explanations and examples, are provided below.
If your organization already has a privacy policy, jump ahead to the Where can I post my policies? section. Our support team cannot assist you with the creation of your website policies. Where can I post my policies?
Here are some ways you can share your organization's policies:
1. Create a new menu item on your MC Professional website to serve as your policy center. You can include the content of each policy on your privacy policy site page or add additional menu items to appear underneath the policy center parent item for each policy.
2. You can insert links on your Home page to your policies or terms of use.
3. On a form, you can add a Label element to link to your policy. Underneath, add a Selection Set element with a checkbox that confirms the form-taker has read and accepts the terms of your privacy policy. Make this a required field if they must consent to your privacy policy to complete the form. This way your members can provide consent to your policies when applying for membership or registering for an event.
For more information, view our article on Creating and configuring forms.
4. If you've generated a code snippet for a policy or consent banner through Termly, reach out to our support team to have it added to your website.
