Overview
You can configure field logic on a form to either show or hide upcoming form sections based on a form-taker's previous selection.
The first selection set must be placed within a General Section. If it is placed within a Membership or Event Section - even though this may appear as a selectable option in the second selection set - field logic will not direct the form-taker to your hidden section.
To add field logic
Add a Selection Set field to your form. This can be a custom attribute, or form field. The selection set must come before the hidden field.
See here for more information on adding and configuring form elements.
In the below example, our selection set is the Do you have dietary restrictions? field. Our hidden field is the If yes, please explain. text field. We only want this field to display if a form-taker selects Yes in our selection set field.
Click on the field you want to impact: the hidden field. In our example, this is the If yes, please explain. text field. On the left hand side toolbar, toggle ON Enable field Logic. Then, click Edit Field Logic.
If you turn ON Enable field logic, but do not make any selections, your form won't function properly. The form will attempt to find field logic that isn't actually set-up. This can cause errors. Make sure you finish setting up field logic, and Save your configuration.
Since Yes is selected in the Field Logic window, the If yes, please explain. text field field will only display if a form-taker selects Yes in the Do you have dietary restrictions? selection set field. If they select No, this field won't display, and the form-taker can proceed through the form as normal.
