About advanced membership pricing
Advanced membership pricing adds optional charges to membership renewal invoices — for example, extra fees for a premium membership, a secondary chapter, or a magazine subscription.
Prerequisites: Additional pricing options must be assigned as a custom attribute before they can be used for advanced pricing.
Setting up advanced pricing
- Go to Database > Member Types. Hover over the member type, then select EDIT SETTINGS.
- Under Advanced Pricing Settings, select Enable Advanced Pricing.
- Select ADD A PRICING RULE.
-
From the Attribute assigned to the individual profile dropdown, select the attribute to use for pricing.
Note: Only selection sets can be used for advanced pricing. Attributes not listed are not eligible. -
Add pricing to the attribute's selections.
Note: The attribute cannot be edited here — it pulls from the settings in Database > Attributes. For example, a member with Yes selected for a Premium membership attribute is charged an additional $15 on their renewal invoice, appearing as an additional line item. Members with No selected, or no selection, are not charged. - Select the revenue account to link to this pricing rule.
- Select SAVE.
Effect on membership forms
Advanced pricing applies only to invoices generated by the automatic renewal process or manually created by an admin. It does not apply to invoices generated by membership forms.
To set up advanced pricing on a renewal form, add the attribute to the form as a pricing field. See Creating a pricing field for details.
Invoicing
Invoices generated by the automatic renewal process include advanced pricing as an additional line item.
