After you create a course and package that you want to charge learners for, create an MC Professional form. The form collects payments and gives learners permission to access their purchased courses in Classroom. Complete the following sections in order.
On this page
Creating an MC Professional group
To permission Classroom content for specific learners, create a group in MC Professional for each Classroom package. Only learners in this group can access the course.
- In MC Professional, go to Database > Groups.
- Select Add.
- Enter a name for the group, then select Save.
Creating an MC Professional form
Create, or copy an existing, MC Professional form for learners to complete. The form collects payment for course registration and puts learners in the new group so that they can access the course. For full form documentation, see Creating and configuring forms.
After you complete the general form, link the form to a Classroom package or course in 5 parts:
- Add an Event or General section with a selection set.
- Add your Classroom package as a selection, and tie it to the new group.
- Update the form confirmation page to include a link to the Classroom package.
- Update the form confirmation email with the same link.
- Update the course description in Classroom with a link to your form in MC Professional.
Creating the form section and selection set
After you create the form, add the form section and the selection set.
- Add an Event or General section through Add Form Elements > Presentation.
- Add your selection set through Add Form Elements > Form Fields.
- Update the selection properties. Turn on Enable selections to dictate a form taker’s group, so that learners who choose the form selection are added to the group. For a full explanation of the features, see the form documentation.
- Select Add Selections, Option Limits, & Base Prices. This is also where you name the selection option and assign pricing.
- On the next screen, name the selection, assign pricing (if applicable), and select a group for the selection from the dropdown.
When a form taker selects this exact item and submits the form, the system adds the form taker to that group automatically.
Updating the form confirmation page
After learners complete the form, give them a link to the Classroom course so that they can access the course they purchased or registered for.
- Scroll to the end of the form and select the Confirmation Page text box.
- Make sure the element is enabled, then select Edit Confirmation Page.
Finding your link and inserting it in your confirmations
Add a link to the Classroom course, plus ?login=force at the end, to the confirmation page text.
- Open another window and go to the Classroom course page that you are building the form for. Use the user side of Classroom, not the admin side.
- From the front end, select one of your courses.
- Note the URL of the course page.
- Copy the URL and add
?login=forceat the end. For example,https://art5.mcclassroom.net/en/package/298/course/320/viewbecomeshttps://art5.mcclassroom.net/en/package/298/course/320/view?login=force. - In the confirmation page text, add the link using the hyperlink button.
- Select Save.
The ?login=force ending logs the learner in to Classroom automatically, so that they can access the course they purchased.
Updating the form confirmation email
As a best practice, add the package link to the confirmation email as well.
- Select the Properties tab in the Confirmation section of the form.
- Make sure the Confirmation Email toggle is enabled, then select Edit Confirmation Email.
- Update the text to include the same Classroom course link that you used for the confirmation page, using the hyperlink button.
- Select Save.
Creating the corresponding group in Classroom
After your package is complete, the MC Professional group exists, and the MC Professional form is built, create the group in Classroom.
- In Classroom, go to Groups > Group Management.
- Select Add Group.
- Enter the Group Title.
- (Optional) Enter a Group Description.
- Make sure the Visibility checkbox is selected.
- Select Save.
When Visibility is selected and the group is assigned to a package, only users in that group can access the content of the package.
Adding the group to the corresponding Classroom packages
After you create the Classroom group, add it to all relevant packages.
- In Classroom, go to Store > Packages.
- Select the blue arrow next to the package that you want to add the group to.
- Select Add to Group.
- From the dropdown that appears, select the appropriate group.
- Make sure the Summary visible for all option is selected. This makes the package visible to everyone, but only the users in the group can access the content.
- Select Save.
Updating the Classroom course with a link to the MC Professional form
Update the course with a link to the MC Professional form. This lets members or prospects reach the form after they view the course in Classroom.
- In Classroom, go to Learning Center > Courses.
- Select the blue pencil icon for the course that you are configuring.
- In the Long Description of the course, add a link to the MC Professional form using the insert link icon. To get the form link, go to the form in MC Professional and select Copy URL.
Learners can view the course, select the link to the form, and complete the form. They then select the link in the confirmation page or email to go to the course, log in to Classroom, and begin the course.
