Merge data lets you insert profile attribute information — such as a member's name, expiration date, or contact details — directly into articles, contact center messages, and widgets. The merge tag is replaced with the user's actual data when the content is viewed or sent.
To add merge data:

Open your content
Open an article, contact center message, or widget for editing. -
Open the Merge Data tool
Select Merge Data below the editor. -
Select an attribute
In the Merge Data window, select an attribute from the Profile Data dropdown. If you are composing a form confirmation page or confirmation email, a Form Data dropdown also appears with available form fields. -
Insert the merge tag
Select Merge: [Attribute Name] to insert the tag into your content.
Note: If members aren't seeing merged data as expected, check Profile Owner Attribute Security, which controls what a member can view and edit in their own profile.
