All content editors across the MC Professional platform work the same way. Once you know how to insert a link in one area, the same steps apply to event descriptions, contact center messages, and custom pages. This guide details how to insert links into content across your MC Professional account.

Getting started
- Go to the content you want to edit. For example, go to Website > Articles and select an existing article, or select New to create one.
- Select the text area where you want the link to appear.
- Type the descriptive text you want visitors to select — for example, "Register for the event" — then highlight those words.
Method 1: Linking to an internal MC Professional item
Use this method to link to an item already hosted inside your platform, such as another article, a system form, or a document.
- With your text highlighted, select Site Links in the lower-left corner of the content editor.
- Select the tab that matches the item you want to link to:
- Articles: Links to another published article.
- Forms: Links to an active registration or membership form.
- Menu Item: Links to an existing navigation menu destination.
- Files: Links to a hosted document (PDF, image, etc.).
- If you selected the Files tab, upload your document before linking. Select Upload inside the pop-up, choose your destination folder in the Media Manager, and upload your file. Once uploaded, select it from the list.
- Review the Link Text box at the bottom of the window. If you highlighted text before opening the tool, it appears here automatically. Select Insert to place the link.
Method 2: Linking to an external website
Use this method to link to an outside webpage or asset not stored within your MC Professional platform.
- With your text highlighted, select the Insert/Edit Link icon (resembling a chain link) on the top toolbar.
- Paste the full web address into the Link URL field.
- Select Insert to add the link to your page.
Note: Include the full protocol in the URL (http:// or https://). If you omit it, the system will prompt you to add it automatically — select Yes to ensure the link works.
