What is the Media Manager?
The Media Manager is the central storage hub for all of your website's non-text assets, including images, photos, documents, videos, and other files. You can use the media library to upload new content, delete outdated files, and organize items into folders.
To access these settings, go to Website > Media Manager.
Uploading a new file
- In the left-hand folder tree, click the specific folder where you want to store your new file.
- Select the Upload button.
- Browse your computer, select one or more files, and click OK or Open. The files will automatically upload to your chosen folder.
Best practice: We highly recommend uploading files that do not have any blank spaces in their file names. Spaces can cause broken links and loading errors in certain web browsers. Instead of spaces, use hyphens or underscores (for example: use "my-logo.jpg" or "my_logo.jpg" instead of "my logo.jpg").
Adding a new folder
You can build a custom folder structure to keep your media organized by creating subfolders:
- Select the parent folder in the left-hand directory list where you want the new subfolder to live.
- Locate the text box directly to the left of the Create Folder button.
- Type your new folder name into the box. Use lowercase letters and do not include spaces.
- Select Create Folder.
Moving files
Important note: Moving files that are already live on your website will break their links. If you move an image or document to a different folder, it will disappear or fail to download on your live site. You must manually reinsert the file into its corresponding article or webpage after moving it to fix the layout.
To move files within the library
Select the folder containing the files you want to shift.
- Check the box next to each file you want to move.
- Click Move.
- In the folder menu that appears, select the new target destination folder.
- Click Select Folder.
- Click Continue to complete the transfer.
