Part 2: Connecting to your MC Professional account in Zapier
- Create a Zapier account.
- Log in to your Zapier account, then select Create > Zaps.
- Select the Trigger step.
- Use the search tool to find MC Professional.
- Select a trigger in the Event dropdown. This is the initiating event in your MC Professional account that starts an automation. The following triggers are available:
- Form registrant created: Triggers when a new registrant is created through a form.
- Form registrant cancelled: Triggers when a registrant's status updates to cancelled.
- New member join from membership form: Triggers when a user joins through a membership form.
- Invoice created: Triggers when a new invoice is created, by either an admin or a member.

- Invoice refunded: Triggers when an invoice is refunded in MC Professional.
- Select Sign in to connect your MC Professional account.
- In the pop-up window, enter the Client ID, Client Secret, and the URL of your MC Professional account, then select Yes, Continue to MC Professional. You can find this information in your MC Professional admin dashboard under Settings > Account Settings > API Management.
- After you've connected your MC Professional account, select Continue.
Setting up a trigger in MC Professional
- If you've selected an event or membership trigger, select the event section in the Form Event dropdown. If you've selected an invoice trigger, skip to step 2.
Note: The name of the event section may differ from the name of your form. To find it, navigate to Forms > Form List, edit the form, and select Properties on the event section. The Event Name field appears in the Element Properties tab.
- Select Test Trigger to make sure your form or invoice fields export correctly.
- In the test window, if you selected an event or membership trigger, Zapier shows up to the three most recent registrants that haven't appeared previously in this list. Select a registrant in the left column to view their registration information on the right. If your form fields look correct, select Continue with selected record. If you selected an invoice trigger, the list shows up to the three most recent invoice records, with the invoice fields on the right.
- Set up an action to integrate MC Professional with another application.
Setting up an action
- Select the Action step in your Zap.
- Use the search bar to find the application you want to integrate with. Each application has its own set of options and fields. To set up an action in your MC Professional account, search for MC Professional.
- In MC Professional, one action is currently available: Create Continuing Education Credit.
- Import continuing education credit data from another application into your MC Professional database. Use the text fields to map fields from the other application to your MC Professional fields.
- Select Test step to test your action, or select Skip test to continue.
Caution: Actions fail in MC Professional if you don't provide a unique identifier that maps to the correct member profile. Use the profile id, member number, or username attribute as the unique identifier. It must match an attribute of the same name in MC Professional.
- If your test succeeded, or if you skipped the test, select Publish. Your Zap is now live.
