In an effort to ensure the highest level of security for our customers and their members, we are implementing a reCAPTCHA on all credit card payment submissions beginning Wednesday, February 9, 2022. On the payment section of all Invoices in a member's profile, we have added a small, standard reCAPTCHA requiring the user to check a checkbox prior to submitting payment.
The new reCAPTCHA will provide an extra layer of protection against credit card phishing scams in particular, in which malicious bots use your credit card form to test card numbers looking for valid information. The reCAPTCHA is the best way to prevent this type of attack and also ensure your credit card processor does not suspend service or impose fees in the event of suspicious activity.
We have already implemented reCAPTCHA on all form submissions (see previous payment update). This is an additional level of protection when it comes to users logging into their accounts and paying their invoices.
