Kinsey, what is a typical impression selection? Meaning, what are some common impression monetization selections people have been making? Trying to figure out what would be a good baseline to us. Also, if we use the sponsor ads manager through you, it is always a banner at the top, correct? Does it run on the top of each page or just the home page? So if we want ads on specific pages, we just use the templates and not the manager? Just want to make sure I'm clear on all the options. Thanks!

Hi Gail! From what I've seen, most of our customers seem to base their sponsor ad sales on timeframe rather than impressions (ex. 1 month of ad placement for $100). I'm not aware of a MemberClicks customer who sells based on number of impressions, but I think starting at 50 or 100 would be a good baseline. If you add a sponsor ad to your template, where the ad appears depends on your website design. I took a look at your template, and the ad would most likely need to go in your right bar. Sponsor ads can appear on the home page only, on interior pages only, or both. The ad templates above are intended as a starter image for a customer who doesn't have sponsors yet, but wants to encourage sponsors to purchase a spot. So, we would typically add the sponsor ad module to their template with one of the images above in it to start out. If you have questions, feel free to shoot an email to help@memberclicks.com and we'll discuss further!

As vendors want to renew ads, is there a simple way to invoice them?

Hi Jan - You could have vendors take a form to renew their sponsorship, or you could Ad Hoc invoice them from the Profile List.

I am trying to figure out how the templates work.  I punch in the pixel size and is still the same size.  please help.

Hi Heather - You shouldn't need to enter a pixel size for the images uploaded to Sponsor Ads, as the images will size themselves down appropriately.

That said, we do recommend sizing big images before uploading them to MemberClicks to speed up page load times. I usually edit and size photos using www.pixlr.com. Pixlr is not affiliated with MemberClicks, but I like them because it's a free service, you don't have to download anything, and it doesn't matter if you're on a Mac or PC. Sponsor images can be any height you like, but to be placed in the right bar of your site they should be sized at 200px wide.
