What's happening
We've seen a significant uptick in traffic on MemberClicks in the past few weeks which has impacted performance in several areas of the application, especially during peak hours. This increase in traffic has come faster than expected and, more to the point, outpaced our scheduled capacity upgrades. So many customers have seen searches and other tasks taking an unusually long time the past couple of days.
That's the bad news. The good news is we are growing and here's what we're going to do to accelerate the infrastructure growth to outpace the growth in traffic and usage.
The first step to bolster performance and stability was taken on August 11th by reworking how permission pages are served up. This change noticeably sped up the load times for permission pages and had an incremental impact on the overall system performance. With this change already in place and making a difference, we'll be pushing out a similar change this week to menus. No downtime will be necessary to make this change and we anticipate a big boost in overall performance for admins and members after the change is in place. Please stay tuned for details on this second update.
While the steps above will help in the short term, we'll, of course, be addressing the longterm needs as well. The first of these steps will take place on Tuesday morning when we'll be expanding our system capacity across the board. We have also added several new team members on the engineering side to increase our ability to implement changes quickly when necessary and, more importantly, to execute longterm infrastructure growth as we move forward.
Rest assured, system performance has our full attention and these issues will come to an end. We will continue to post updates as we take the steps mentioned above. Thank you for your patience over the past couple of days and know that our engineers have been locked in the office until the application performance has been fully addressed.

Sounds like decisive action is being taken to resolve our concerns. Thank you, to you and your team(s).
The updates to menus and back-end infrastructure went live at 5 a.m. ET this morning and we saw the expected boosts in performance and stability throughout the day. We'll continue to closely monitor these areas as we make more incremental changes over the coming weeks and months.
It's 2016 and still seems slow. Any news on more upgrades? Attached is a pic of a search I just did. Not the first time the rows came back blank.

Hey Megan, this looks like more of a bug with profile search rather than a performance issue. I'll open up a ticket on your behalf so we can track down the details. In general, performance is an on-going effort. This post from 2011 referred to some specific and pervasive issues we were experiencing at the time. I'm going to close comments on this post to avoid future confusion.
Keep an eye out for the ticket confirmation shortly.
