Hello! I see that there is a "read more" option on the article manager editor, but not on the widget manager editor. Obviously both editors are not created equal. I need that option on my widget editor. How do I go about that? Do I need to learn HTML? If so, do you have webinars that will help your members better understand what they need to know in order to use your lovely MemberClicks product? Thanks, Amber.

Hi Amber - The "read more" option isn't available for widgets, but you can certainly add a link manually.  I recommend creating an article that contains the information, then inserting a "site link" to that article in the widget.

I want to resize the 'boxes' the content lives in as I don't want a vertical scroll on the home page.  As Admin, do I have access to the template to do this?

Hi Deborah, it'll depend on the specifics of your design, but the changes will most likely take place on our end.  Send an email to help@memberclicks.com so we can take a closer look at the specifics.

Thanks Duncan.  I opened a Support Request last night. We had asked for this to be done during the code out and since it was not thought I'd attempt it myself.  Still learning. Appreciate your help.

I keep trying to use the top right space to put a series of Quick links - which is what the page was configured for.  But if I put a site link or description on widget editor it doesn't appear on the page.

Hi Maureen - It looks like the home page article was edited (instead of the widget), which is why you're seeing that problem. I corrected the issue, and next time you need to edit the Quick Links module, navigate to Website > Widget Manager > HP Top Right where you can add and edit text and links. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to our Help Team at 404-879-2800 or help@memberclicks.com.

Can you edit a widget and assign it to only one group? Then have another widget for other groups in the database?

Hi Gloria - Widgets can be assigned to only one group, and multiple widgets can be created for assignment to specific groups. Adding widgets (and adjusting their settings so that you can control permissions) is something the Design Team will have to do, so if you have specific questions on having widgets created/adjusted, please feel free to submit a ticket to our Help Team at help@memberclicks.com so that they can assist.

How do you publish updates on the footer?  The footer was set up as a widget, I made some changes, saved, hit apply. Do not see the changes.  What step am I missing?

Hi Melinda - It sounds like you may need to refresh your browser and/or clear your cache. Clicking Apply will allow you to update the article or widget you're editing without closing the page, while clicking Save will close the page and save the changes. If you continue to have issues, feel free to send a quick email to help@memberclicks.com so we can dig in further.

For some reason the Widget editor and the Front Page editor will not switch from HTML to WYSIWYG view as it normally does.  I've tried clicking the toggle button in both places but the veiw remains in HTML.  Can you help?

Hi Linda - I created a Help Ticket on your behalf so that we can dig in further. You should receive a message confirming that the ticket has been opened. It would be really helpful if you could respond with details, like what browser and version you're using (ex. Firefox, IE 11, etc.). We'll be back in touch soon!

Is there any way possible that you can delete widgets? I am in the process of editing my homepage and I want the widgets and the grey boxes that appear on the page to vanish.

    Hi Erin,

Yes, by entering the widget manager, you can choose to unpublish a widget, which is seen under the 'unpublished' column and can be done by clicking the green check mark, which will then change it to a red 'x.' If there is a widget that you want to turn off that you do not have access to do so, just let the help team know at help@memberclicks.com, and we'll be happy to help you out!

    Hello,

How do I change the name of the custom HTML widget name?  I was able to add content but the published widget title remains "custom HTML"

    Thanks.

    Hey Joseph,

The names of the widgets can only be changed by Memberclicks employees. The settings of the widgets themselves are housed within a section that only we can access, so if you'd like for these names to be changed, just write us at help@memberclicks.com, and we can take care of that for you!
