I have disabled most of the social community features for the initial rollout. However, it looks like members still have the ability to edit preferences, which shows the number of activities in their stream (yet, i'm disabling the activity stream for now). Please advise on how to Hide this option as i do not see it under group management.

    Thank you.

Alexandra - It doesn't look like there is a way to turn that off at this point - I'll check with our Engineering Department to see if it's something we can add in.

Hi Alexandra, I just wanted to let you know that this should be taken care of in our next release (within 2 weeks).

Is there a way to share files/documents through the social community, or just photos?

Is there a way to make the circles pages viewable only to logged in members? We want to include links to some of the circles in our newsletter, but the newsletter goes to both members and non-members. Based on the group permissions we set up, the public should not be able to view any part of the social community. Yet, if they click on the link to a circle, they can see the circle and all content within it WITHOUT being prompted to log in. Why is this happening and how can it be fixed?

I apologize for the late responses!

@Jody - as of next Tuesday, 10/30, you will be able to upload documents within social community circle discussions.

@Carrie - I was able to reproduce that problem as well, and have notified our Engineering Team that it's a problem we need to resolve as quickly as possible. I will also follow up with you personally on a workaround I've discovered.

Is there a feature for allowing users to post their own videos? I didn't see anything about it..only for photos.

    Thanks!

Hi Max - Great question! As of the release this morning, 10/30, files can be uploaded to circle discussion posts. I just tested and confirmed that this does include video files. I've updated the article above to reflect that change.

I'm wondering if you can set the system to notify the ASAs when a new circle is created and set to unpublish as the "moderate circle creation" is set to YES.  Otherwise, members create circles and it could be days before we publish them as we aren't made aware.

Kathie - If Moderate Circle Creation is set to Yes, the person listed as the Circle Administrator will need to approve new Circles before they're published. Anyone listed as a circle member is eligible to be made the Circle Administrator, but because ASAs aren't considered a true part of the database - they're viewed as administrators, but don't display in the member directory, etc. - they aren't able to participate in Circles or act as Circle Administrators. One way around this would be for you to create a separate Admin profile for the purpose of acting as a Circle Administrator.  I hope that helps!

Is there a way for the ASA to be notified of a circle creation? If I have it set to "moderate" then their circles won't be published automatically, but I won't know that they're waiting for me to approve them unless I am checking the circle stuff 24/7. Am I missing something?

Alexis - That moderate function is a bit different than others in the product, as there isn't a person auto assigned who should be notified when a Circle is created. Right now, no one is notified - it's just something that would need to be checked regularly. Do you have thoughts on who should receive a notification? Ex. the ASAs, an overall Social Community Moderator, etc?

Thanks for getting back to me Kinsey.

I know for my organization, it is an ASA (myself) moderating Circle creation and if we had notifications it would stay that way (I turned off the moderation option for now to see how that goes....yikes). I will say that an overall Social Community Moderator sounds very appealing, as I like being able to delegate some of those smaller tasks. At this point, I think it would be great if at least an ASA could receive an e-mail notification. Thanks for asking!

Alexis - That's exactly the kind of feedback we need. I'll be passing it along to the Product Team as an enhancement request - I appreciate the details!

Is there a way to remove a member from a circle group?  we have a circle group that is for current Board Members and there are 2 individuals that no longer fit in that category so was wondering how to remove them from that circle.

    Thanks.

Hi Denise - Yes, you can remove a member from Social Community circle by logging in as that circle's administrator on the front end (member side) of the site. After that, click on the option to "View All Circles" (on the righthand side of the page). Select the circle you need to edit > click Show All under Members on the right. There you'll see the ability to remove specific members from the circle, or to change the Circle Admin.

Does the Community Forum connect to the My Community page? Will members be able to see posts to the forum topics and click thru to them from this page? There is a growing group of our members who would like to restrict the emails and notifications they receive to only the topics they wish to follow, so we are planning to open the My Community page to all members. Most of our long-time members prefer the email discussion list they are currently subscribed to, but some newer members have started Forum topics in an attempt to get others to follow them there. Are the two components integrated at all?

Is there a way for me to get a report of the activity stream or the community forum activity?  I want to see if people are logging in, latest postings, or who is posting most frequently without having to search through the forum itself.
