Is there a limit to the size or type of file that can be uploaded to the committees?

Hi Evelyn - Files up to 1mb in size should upload just fine.  There are several different file types that are allowed such as .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, .pdf, etc.  Just about any file that someone would want to share can be uploaded.

Is there a way to update the notifications for an entire committee? For example, I want everyone in my Awards committee to get emails when a message is posted or a file is posted. Is there a way to turn on notifications for everyone in the committee at once or will I need to log in for each member and update their settings?

Hi Becky - Committee notifications default to "Off" when people are subscribed. I did go ahead and open up a ticket for you with our Help Team so that we can see what we can do to help. Expect to hear back from someone soon.

It would be awesome if members were able to add themselves to committee's instead of an admin having to constantly add new members.  Are there any plans for this functionality?

Hi Shunte - We don't have updates on this functionality just yet, but with a recent update, might have an alternative. Circles and committees have pretty similar functionality, the main difference being the ability for members to add themselves to a circle on their own (as opposed to a committee, where an Admin has to do it). Our last release made an update that allows for attachments to be posted to circles, so they might fit your need better now.

For other readers, please feel free to leave a comment or "like" Shunte's previous suggestion for members to be able to add themselves to committees here.

Becky, is the only way to default the notifications for committee to "ON" is to have Help Desk do it?  I'd prefer to have all my committees notification's be "on" not defaulted to "OFF" so they have to go in and change it themselves....then it usually doesn't happen :)

Hi Kim - I've opened you up a ticket with our Help Team so that we can get with engineering to make that adjustment to your committees. Expect to hear from someone soon.

Thank you.  Sorry I meant to write that comment to you, not Becky :)  Thanks again.

WHen I'm logged in as admin I don't have the Committee option under My Features. help!

Sara - Typically that will happen if you have two profiles - one with regular Admin credentials, and one with Authorized Service Administrator rights. If you're logged in as an Admin instead of an ASA, you may not be able to see everything. If you need to reconfirm your ASA credentials, please feel free to log a ticket with our Help Team at help@memberclicks.com, and they'll be glad to assist!

Is it possible to make folders for the files...if not, can that be added?

Gail - Right now it isn't possible to create folders in the Committee Management area, however, there is a feature request for it here. Please feel free to like and/or comment on the request with any additional details.

The screen shots don't match what is available to me as an admin and as a general user.  And I can create a committee but cannot figure out how to add members. Please help!

I am an ASA and there is no "add members" button for committees.  Please advise.

Brad - I've opened you up a Help Ticket so that the team can dig in. In the future, you can open a ticket on your own by emailing help@memberclicks.com. Expect to hear back from someone soon!

Is there a set process by which a member may ask to join a committee?  Or a way to display a list of all active committees so that the general membership can see what's available?

Mikael - Committees are the most private method of member interaction available (when compared to forums and the social community in particular). Part of that privacy is that members who are not part of a particular committee can't see anywhere that the committee even exists.

That said, I have seen some clients create article and/or saved search content to show what a committee does and/or who is on it. I have also seen some success with the creation of a basic form where members choose a committee that they want to join (you would create the selection set for the committees available and members would choose accordingly). As an admin, you would need to manually add them to the committee to keep that privacy consistent. I hope that helps!
