Can memberclicks increase the number of group information fields from 5 to say, 10?

If a limit needs to be established, 5 seems like a small number...especially if you are collecting address information...address, city, state and zip already take up 4 fields.  You can't collect an address and then also collect separate first and last names from fields.

I understand that fields/cells can be separated in Microsoft Excel, but based on how registrants type their information, discrepencies can make dividing fields/cells in Excel cumbersome.

I agree! It would be very helpful if there were more than 5! Would ALSO be helpful if we could use drop down menus in those 5 fields -- rather than all just text box fields...

@John and @Dave - thanks for your feedback. The registrant group field is limited in what it can collect, however, you might consider using our parent-child functionality, which allows one member to apply for, renew, and register multiple 'child' menus (paying for all at the same time). This is beneficial in that it will break out the secondary members into profiles for you, and each will have a receipt generated. Thanks Kinsey.  I'm not sure your suggestion meets my needs, though. Based on the link you provided, it seems that the parent-child functionality is only available through the "Application" form type...which I assume only creates profiles for members.  I don't wish to have additional members in my memberclicks account...I simply need to receive more information about event attendees/registrants through the "Event Registration" form type. My initial comment above explains how the group information fields are limiting.  Am I incorrect in my assumptions about the purpose of the "Application" form type?  How do other customers collect information from event attendees without making each attendee register themselves, or having a secretary complete a form 10 times for 10 different employees attending an event?

John - You'll receive an e-mail from me soon so that we can discuss things further as they relate to your specific questions.

Hi Kinsey, I'm interested in the response that you gave to John above. I've never used the Registrant Group Field above and look forward to learning more.

Making forms and testing them can take quite a long time. Does MC have an sample forms that users like me can run through to get an idea about some the options for creating forms?

    Thanks, Heather

Hi Heather - The registrant group field is useful if you need to collect names, and a few fields of contact information, for additional registrants on an event registration form. Only one receipt will be created, for the member submitting the form, but information will be gathered for the additional registrants that you can use for name tags, etc. I've left further comments about the other option - parent/child registration - here.

As far as forms for testing, typically there are quite a few example forms included from your implementation process, but if not and you'd like a couple to play around with, I'll see what I can do about importing a few test forms to your site.

When using the registrant field in a form, how can I display the names (or info collected) from the registrant field in a confirmation or email? For example, right now I am creating a form and when I insert registrant group field into the confirmation page and email confirmation, only the number selected is displayed. I would like to see the info collected too.

Michelle - At this time there isn't a way to merge in the additional information collected through the registrant group field.  Only the information from the main form pages can be merged.

I need to be able to collect Meal information also, which would require the use of a radio button field for the additional registrants.  And I need more than 5 fields as well.  thanks.

I am creating a form for conference registration for exhibitors. I want to capture the registrant information which includes the vendor name, contact name address etc and two booth representatives that are included with the booth.

In addition, the vendor has the option of registering additional booth representatives for an additional fee per registrant.

After reviewing this thread, I realized that I have set up the form using attributes for the 2 booth registrants. I will change this to a registrant group.

My question is, can I have multiple registrant groups in the same form?

Will any of the booth representatives be added to my basic contacts for future communications? If not, how can I accomplish this?
