How can we get search functionality like in the above link? I am posting this here to see if other clients of MemberClicks want their end user to have a feature like this? I am sure it is complicated ... aspx, but I think it is worth the effort.

Yes, yes, YES! I'm new to MemberClicks, and I'm still learning my way around, but I'm struggling trying to figure out how to provide some easy searching for our members. We have a lot of fields members might want to search on, and sending them to the Advanced Search page to select fields and values works but will be too complex for some people. A search like the one in Karen's link above would be awesome.

    Karen and Eric,

Keep an eye out for updates on how users are able to search the directory in the next few weeks.

Regarding my comment above, we're still planning on updating the search pages, but the project has been re-prioritized under a few more pressing things.  I'll keep you posted as more info becomes available.

Just noticed this one and think it's a great idea - how low on the priority list is it?

John, I must have missed updating this, my apologies.  The front-end user search feature has been available for a few months.  You can read more about configuration and usage here.

Any way to get a more columnar appearance to these search results? More like the list approach seen on the admin side?

Hi Heather - The back end of the site (the part admins see) is older, and the member facing side has been more recently updated with a modern look and feel.  For that reason, there isn't a way to make the template truly columnar, however example 2, above, shows the closest thing you can get to having a two column look. Hope this helps!

Any way to get Icons for Facebook, twitter etc to display on members directory in stead of their URL?

    Hi Emma,

Currently, only a link to these pages can be displayed, rather than the icons themselves. You could certainly add this as a suggestion to our feature request page, however. We have a team that combs this page for suggestions from our members, and quite often some these suggestions make it into our product changes. I'll place a link to this page for you below.
