There is no way to return to the search details from the saved search report.  From the report, click on Admin Home advanced search.  It shows the detail from the previous saved search.  Select a new saved search and it gives you the new report but the previous searches title.  The only clean way to get back to the detail and run a new saved search is to logout and then login again.  Messy.

    Dear Teresa,

A way to accomplish this without having to logout and in again is to click the 'clear' button found at the bottom of the Advanced Search page upon returning to it. Since we store all search criteria as part of your session information this button is key to ensure you are getting new results each time.

Can I create a search of contacts who have bounced and/or have opted out of email?  I want to export this to excel.

Hi Jodi - you can definitely export that information, but you'll do it in a different area from the advanced search.  Go to Reports > Contact Center Report > click the eyeball icon to the left of a message > towards the bottom, click on the number next to "bounces" or "unsubscribes" > then select "tag all" > scroll down and click "view tagged recipients in search results".  At that point you can click the "export" button to download the list.

Hi Ynez - I agree, it would be very useful to have a way to search for members who have NOT opted out of mass communications. Currently we do take those members out automatically via the contact center - however, I do see the case where you would want to export them. I've added the enhancement request here: https://help.memberclicks.com/entries/22257516. Please feel free to leave additional details in the comments, and/or like the post!

How can I manage (delete, modify, rename) my Saved Searches. Thx,

Peter - You can delete a saved search by running the search, then scrolling to the bottom of the search results page. There you'll see the ability to edit, delete, or resave the search. Right now, editing the search will allow you to change the search name, as well as the update the groups the search is shared with. To edit the search criteria, you'll want to run a new search, then save that search with a new name (you can simply delete the old version). If you have other questions about working with saved searches, please feel free to reach out to our Help Team at 404-879-2800 or help@memberclicks.com.

I have added information in the view notes tab. Now how do I search on that? It doesn't show up under attribute. I have information like magazine subscription expiration, business phone numbers, etc.

Hi Sharon - Unfortunately the notes tab isn't searchable or exportable today. As a workaround, some clients create a notes type attribute so that instead of typing notes under the Notes tab, they are included in an attribute that is viewable by admins, but hidden for members. I hope that helps!

Can I give my members the ability to use the Advanced Search?

Hi Sharon - Members aren't able to use the same version of the Advanced Search that you see on the admin side of things. There is an abbreviated version you can give them access to, but we recommend using the User Search instead. The User Search was created to replace the Advanced Search for members on the front end, as you're able to completely customize the search to meet your needs. Here's a video on configuring the User Search.

Thank you Kinsey - I guess what I need are Saved Searches - is there a new video for those also?

I find the search tool in the Help area to be less than useful.  :(

Sharon - This video will show you how to set up saved searches and give your members access to the results. Members aren't able to save searches of their own, though. Hope that helps!

Thank you again!  I have constructed several Saved Searches - but I am unable to share the results pages with my members?  I shared the saved search with the Groups and linked to them in an article - but no results are ever found?

Am I missing a permission setting?  I went through the Permission pages and thought that I gave groups what they would need.

The User Search does not seem to take wildcards (? and *) which makes it useless in our situation.  Am I also missing something there?

Searching / Sorting is extremely important to many of our members and I am having a very difficult time finding solutions that work for us.

Is there a way to search if an attribute contains specified information? For example, if a job title includes a certain word, or if a suffix contains "Jr."? I tried searching using a question mark before the specified word, but that returned zero results.

    Hi Ryan,

Yes, you can certainly do that! If you place an asterisk before and after a piece of text, such as 'Jr,' it will search for all attributes that have that specific piece of text contained within it, regardless of where it is located within the attribute. Searching for *Jr* should yield all of the profiles that have the word 'Jr' within that specific attribute! If you have further questions, just ask our help team at help@memberclicks.com!
