What is it?
To save time, you can move a group of profiles from one group to another all at once.
Moving multiple profiles from one group to another
First, perform a search to display the user you want to move.
- This can be done by clicking on a group under the Summary from the Admin Home:
- Or by running an Advanced Search or Quick Search using specific criteria.
Once you have your search result, if you want to only move some of the users displayed you can use the Tag boxes to include or exclude specific profiles to be moved.
After selecting the profiles you want to move, click Change Group at the bottom of the page.
If you tagged profiles on the search results page you will be able to choose whether you want to move all of the search results, only the profiles you tagged, or those left untagged.
If you did not tag any profiles the only option will be Search Results.
Select the group you would like to move the profiles into.
Note: At this point, you may receive a message like the one below:
This message serves as a warning that you are moving profiles into a group that does not have all the attributes that the previous group did. If an attribute is listed and you continue anyway, the information that was previously contained in the listed attributes will be lost.
As an example, say Cell Phone is assigned to the Member group. The Basic Contact group does not have the Cell Phone Attribute assigned to it. So, if you move members from the Member group to the Basic Contact group, you will loose the Cell Phone information for each profile moved. If you are aware of this change click Submit. If not, click Cancel.
