What is it?
The event import tool allows you to bring external event and registrant/attendee records into your MC Professional database. Use this tool to bring in old event data being stored outside of your MC Professional platform, or to bring in event data from third party event management systems. Note: At this time, the event import tool only brings in information from events that were not created as part of a MC Professional form, and cannot currently be used to update registrant information for events that exist within MC Professional already.
Uploading a CSV File
To upload a an event .csv file, go to Database > Profile Imports, and then click on the Event Import link, located on the top right corner of the screen.
In the file, at least one row must include the profile's username OR member number, which will serve as the unique identifier to tie the event registration status to a member's profile. Download the Event Import Template to get a good start and make sure the import is set up correctly. Note: The event import will only update profiles that already exist in your MC Professional database, and will not create new users. To add new users, you will need to use the profile import tool.
Once the csv file is prepared, click the Upload button and choose your file. Then, click Import Event File when you are ready to begin the import. Next you will see the Profile Import report, showing you which events and registrants were added successfully, and which errors were encountered during the import. Note: if you don't see anything at first, that's ok! Just refresh the page to see progress. You can also see the results by going to the Import Report.
Accessing the data
Once your import is complete, you can view the event attendance by doing a search on events through the Profile List advanced search. Additionally, you can view the records on the member profile by clicking the View Event Attendance button at the right side of the screen
